As you can probably tell, the center is a brushed steel finish and the edges are polished. What might appear to be a shadow in the picture is actually a small strip of blacking between brushed and polished portions, so these might go nicely with a black-faced watch. The overall color is a bit darker than true silver - maybe somewhere between silver and a light gunmetal.
